Avatar: The Way of Water
I took myself to see the Avatar sequel today, which I probably wouldn't have mentioned here but for the fact that it turns out that I wrote a post back in 2010 when the original film came out. Amazing to think that that was a full twelve years ago now.
I'm not interested in addressing the controversy caused by James Cameron's recent remarks about it being some kind of reinterpretation of the history of the United States (and in particular settlers' interactions with the Native American population). The fact is, it's a great film and, particularly, worth seeing in the cinema in 3-D for the full impact.
To be clear, the film is not without plot holes, but it is certainly a visual spectacle and it's great to see the characters from the original film all over again.
